A little bit about me.

Mario Juarez delivers nearly 20 years of expertise in moving companies through critical start-up, or turnaround situations and coordinating rapid-growth market expansions. He is the branch owner of Mario Juarez Real Estate, a real estate power house with more than 40 agents. His branch is consistently one of the top producing offices for the entire Mario Juarez Real Estate system and a major player in regional real estate sales. Established six years ago, Mario’s company has handled over 500 million dollars in transactions during its life span. Clearly evident is Mario’s commitment to inclusion, empowerment, employee support as many of his staff members are local residents and Women of Color. They are empowered with on-going training to instill a clear understanding of how to move up in the company as well as contribute to company growth. Employee well-being and an employee-friendly workplace are major components of Mario’s company culture. Mario Juarez Real Estate occupies a custom office in the heart of Oakland’s Fruitvale District.

As a young immigrant from Honduras to the Fruitvale, Mario Juarez was determined to be part of revitalizing this once depressed area. This neighborhood he calls home is now the second highest revenue tax producing district in the City of Oakland. Growing up in one of Oakland’s poorest sections was a badge of honor, not an obstacle to Mario, and one of the reasons for starting his company in the part of Oakland that he so much loves.

Seeking a better life for both of them, Mario’s mother brought him to America when he was very young and at age twenty-one, Mario learned that he was adopted; yet he had grown up in an incredibly loving family. This new knowledge further awakened Mario to the true meaning and value of sacrifice and commitment. Mario’s beloved grandmother Maria taught him that his “borrowed” last name should always be cherished, respected and treated with honor. Lessons learned from these two strong women have led Mario Juarez to commit himself to unconditionally giving much back to the greater community.

Mario attended local public schools where he was known for his activism and creativity. His first real job was at a bank as a fast-tracked junior executive. When the bank closed, Mario took his first entrepreneurial step opening a recovery company that, instead of pursuing debtors, specialized in packaging of problematic loans. Mario sold that company, bought another, and learned the hard way that success is not always guaranteed. However, he never gave up and remained confident in his abilities. “What I do, I do well. Even though I was momentarily down, I always had my God-given ability to create and do”, says Mario.

Mario continued his commitment by building a Class A real estate office in the Fruitvale. Starting with only two agents, Mario quickly exceeded all established performance benchmarks. He continues to espouse one of the best lessons he has learned; to be humble, ever appreciative and respectful of people no matter their position in life.

Mario Juarez currently serves on the City of Oakland Budget Advisory Committee and previously served on the City’s Workforce Investment Board. He is a Board Member of the Oakland Community Fund and Latino Merchant’s Association. He previously served on the Unity Council Board of Directors and was a member of the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation Commission, Hispanic Chamber Commerce of Alameda County, City of Tracy Parks and Community Services Commission, and numerous other boards and commissions. He is licensed by the California Department of Real Estate and is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors and Bay East Association of Realtors.

His four beautiful children are Mario’s real pride: Mario Antonio, Carolina, Xitlali and Roberto. “Everything I do – I do it with love for my profession, my employees, my clients, and most importantly my family” says Mario.
